here is a plane I drew with illustrator 5.5. it was a first attempt at doing something more photo real in illustrator. Illustrator is a vector drawing program. If you are not familiar with how it works, it allows you to draw shapes with a line, then you can fill that line with color, to get smooth soft areas you can define a shape, then create a second shape and the computer will draw the shapes in between the shapes…
So you can create smooth gradients in lots of shapes. it is complicated but once you get it you can draw almost anything mechanical. anyway this was drawn from a black and white photo. so I made up the colors, I think they may have been right except the blue would have been olive green.
anyway is is good to challenge yourself everyday… that is the only way to learn
